Slurrrp slurrp... Udon & Gyoza

When your family loves Japanese cuisine, the best comfort food definitely has to be udon noodles.

Cooked in mild sauce with a dash of soya sauce, Oyster sauce, a little bit of mirin , fermented black bean paste, udon with it's chewy texture makes a perfect meal.

Added Napa cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, chives and white onion, cooked on high flame to give it a smoky, umami taste.

Ummm.... It was "blissful in a bowl" kinda feeling.

Also seen in the pics is Japanese fried dumplings called "Gyoza". Filled with cabbage, Oyster mushrooms, onions, then pan fried and steamed simultaneously and served with spicy, tangy homemade dipping sauce made with rice wine vinegar, soya sauce, sugar, chopped garlic and ginger and topped with spring onions.

The meal was fresh, and deeply satisfying to say the least. And if I were to say in Japanese..."oishii desu". It's delicious.

Bon appetite......
